Hopeful for those we support, rebellious in our approach, and collaborative by breaking down barriers, AccessHope is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer to help us uniquely deploy the latest cancer knowledge to the places it’s needed most. As an ideal candidate, you’ll oversee the administration, integration, and best practice deployment of our Databricks environment. This individual will serve as the account administrator and team lead, guiding the organization in the effective use of Databricks for advanced analytics, AI/ML, and data architecture initiatives.

 

 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for our Databricks platform, managing account settings, permissions, and workspace governance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain platform integrations with Azure Synapse and Salesforce.
  • Lead platform setup, configuration, and optimization to ensure high performance, scalability, and security.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in deployment, version control, and Git integration for collaborative development.
  • Partner with the Director of Data Science & AI to align platform capabilities with organizational goals.
  • Provide technical leadership on data architecture and AI/ML best practices, ensuring compliance with governance and security frameworks.
  • Mentor and guide team members in leveraging Databricks for advanced analytics and machine learning workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data pipelines, advanced reporting, and machine learning model deployment.

 

 

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or similar field of study.
  • 4 years of experience plus min experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics platforms, or cloud data architecture. 3+ years of hands-on Databricks platform administration in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of Azure Synapse and Salesforce integrations.
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud data platforms, preferably Azure.
  • Proficiency in Git/GitHub/GitLab integration for version control and collaborative development.
  • Solid knowledge of data architecture principles and modern AI/ML development lifecycles.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.

 

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or similar field of study.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Databricks and data science workflows.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, and modern data warehouse architectures.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, life sciences, or real-world evidence (RWE) analytics (a plus).
  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional
  • Databricks Certified Machine Learning Professional
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate

Pay Range: $116,729.60 - $155,841.41 per year
