The Role:
Data Engineers are integral members of the Data Engineering & Operations team who work with internal stakeholders to design database solutions to meet our reporting, analytics, data integration, and data science needs. Our team supports architecture, design, ETL, and database administration tasks for both OLTP systems (PostgreSQL) and data warehouses (Snowflake).
What you'll get to do:
- Use Apache Airflow and Snowflake to make several layers of OppFi data available for reporting, Data Science and analytics
- Develop and document audits and controls to ensure the data meets quality standards and alerts the team when thresholds are breached
- Support and refine internal Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse environments.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to build data integrations for our internal applications and services
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to implement data integrations with external vendors and partners
- Operate in close partnership with the site reliability engineering team to develop and maintain ETL infrastructure
- Contribute energy and opinions to the data engineering team
- Participate in the hiring process for technology candidates within a well-defined process
What you'll bring to the team:
- 8+ years of experience of related data engineering experience working in an engineering team
- Substantial SQL experience (required)
- Scripting proficiency in Python or Ruby (required)
- Strong collaboration skills
- A strong sense of customer service and empathy
- Experience with Airflow, AWS, Snowflake, Tableau, and PostgreSQL strongly preferred
- Experience with containerization technologies and CI/CD tools a plus

Job Level: Sr. Tech I
The minimum salary for this role is $117,000. The total compensation package includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses as well as a 1-time equity grant based on level.
The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by a myriad of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, and other relevant business considerations.
