Under the direction of the Information Leader, the Data Engineer - Senior interacts with business stakeholders, gathers information, analyzes business and technical requirements, develops, tests and implements data-oriented solutions, in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
This role will have an emphasis on data-centric projects such as metadata management, collaborating on data quality concerns, data integration/automation, as well as analytics and data visualizations. Helping to mature business process thinking, ownership and outcomes while aligning data solutions to support those needs will be a key component of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and/or act as a liaison with business stakeholders, IT and vendors to gather, document user stories/requirements, and validate business and technical requirements, work through process improvements, and identify potential solutions.
- Lead influence and consensus building efforts for recommended solutions.
- Design and document necessary conceptual and logical data models to support business requirements
- Practice Master Data Management concepts for data ingestion, cleansing and distribution. Knowledge of Profisee MDM a plus.
- Develop in data technologies such as T-SQL, Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Azure ML, Python, Databricks
- Work within Data Warehouse, Data Lake and Data Lake House architectures
- Translate requirements into effective data insights (visualizations, AI\ML models, etc.) leveraging design best practices and team standards using approved tools
- Provide support and continuous improvement for solutions deployed by the Information Team
- Create and maintain necessary documentation to support deployed solutions
- Manage the execution of project life cycle activities in accordance with the Information Team scrum processes and tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps
- Achieve/maintain proficiency in required skills identified by the Information Team to effectively deliver defined products
- Collaborate with team members to evolve products and internal processes
- Mentor other Engineers and other IT associates as needed.
- Perform on-call support for after business hours as needed.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in IT or an IT related major, or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience
- Requires seven to ten years of job-related experience
- Proven IT implementation success, project leader success, business process/architectural mapping success, vendor liaison experience, system life cycle management, proficiencies in business process or infrastructure design
- Facilitation skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively
- Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines
- Ability to analyze business challenges and recommend solutions
- Ability to comprehend application-related concepts with a demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical thinking
- Ability to work in an agile Scrum Team
- Comfortable working in a virtual environment
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are very important for this position
- Proficient in Databricks, Microsoft T-SQL, SSAS, DAX, Power BI, SSIS, ADF, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Azure DevOps (will train)
- Preferred: Experience in a broad range of business/systems/technology environments and with business process/change management tools.
- Preferred: Experience in financial and/or professional services industry.

Wipfli supports equal pay for equal work and values each candidate’s unique experiences and skill sets. The estimated pay range for this position is: $90,000 to $146,000. Compensation within the range is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, individuals' skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business needs and applicable employment laws.
