As a member of our Data Ops team, your role involves monitoring, maintaining, and supporting a critical data pipeline within defined SLAs. You'll provide timely updates on operational issues, suggest improvements for efficiency, and ensure data pipeline reliability. Performance tuning and troubleshooting will be key in identifying and resolving bottlenecks for optimal data processing. You'll uphold data governance, implement security controls, and create monitoring tools for proactive issue detection. Handling infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating within cross-functional teams are also vital aspects of your responsibilities.

  • Integration of new technologies into our stack, like Segment and dbt.Administration of data tools, including Segment, dbt, Airflow.Administering Snowflake Access Control using Terraform like tools.Working to optimize Snowflake Storage and Compute.

You are:

  • Technically-skilled, able to understand technology tradeoffs that your teams will face and ask the right questions to ensure the right decisions are made.Able to drive process improvements that make the teams more effective over time.Passionate about Data and always eager to explore new data sources, technologies, and methodologies to improve data operations and deliver valuable insights.Continuous learner and ready to adapt new tools, technologies, and standard processes to adapt to evolving data landscapes.Able to work independently, operating without significant input or guidance.

Your experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, 3+ years of experience with AWS, SnowFlake, DBT, Airflow, Terraform, CI/CD tools.Experience designing, building and operating robust data systems with reliable monitoring and logging practices.Effectively work across team boundaries to establish overarching data architecture, and provide guidance to individual teams.Working knowledge of relational databases and query performance tuning (SQL).High level of scripting proficiency in Python.Experience architecting and implementing data governance processes and tooling (such as data catalogs, lineage tools, role-based access control, PII handling).Strong written and oral communication skills.
