This client's Medicaid Business Technology group owns a Care Management application that assists healthcare workers in engaging with their high-risk health population. This specific team owns the management of data within the application and is held responsible for integrating that data into other internal applications, as well as outsourcing portions of it to third-party vendors. Their team is growing, and they are needing a senior-level Data Engineer to assist their Technical Lead with overseeing the Data Engineering team, SQL and SSIS Development, and API/Data Integration and ETL work.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities: We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer that will work on the collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing of large sets of data. You will also be responsible for integrating them with the architecture used across teams in our group. The Senior Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale. The Senior Data Engineer will work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

• Develop high-level system design diagrams for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation
• Work independently or within a team, coaching new or less experienced developers in day-to-day operations as well as technical knowledge
• Develop and update code ensuring quality and well-documented easy-to-understand code
• Write proper tests, keeping critical elements like security and performance in mind
• Keep abreast of new technologies to support gaining efficiencies in solution acquisition and development
• Ensure best practices are utilized in the design, build, implementation, and support phases of a system’s lifecycle

What do you need:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
• Deep Technical expertise in data modeling, database design development, data mining, and performance tuning
• Advanced experience in Microsoft SQL Server stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
• Capable of writing complex T-SQL queries, report writing and presenting findings
• Strong ETL and API experience & skills
• Strong database development knowledge including performance tuning, Transact-SQL, DDL/DML and Master Data Management Tools
• Proficiency in database design concepts and techniques for OLAP versus OLTP
• Experience with enterprise-level DBMS systems and tools
